Design & build solution for University of Leeds MSCP
SCCDB have provided a design build solution for the sub-structures and superstructure on this new 8 storey MSCP for the University of Leeds. The scheme provides over 600 spaces over the 7 suspended levels plus ground floor utilising extra-long pre-stressed slabs to provide completely open 2 way circulation. The frame was developed and installed in full height sections utilising a crawler crane. This enabled the cladding to be commenced early on the gable elevation providing successful execution of the critical path programme.
Utilising precast elements within the substructures such as plinths and retaining walls enabled overlap between the build phases providing further programme certainty in our attempt to de-risk the project.
