SCC Design Build is providing the pre-cast concrete frame and modular brick-faced panels, complete with pre-installed windows for the new five-storey office building for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) at Teville Gate House, Worthing. The 8,550 square metres of floorspace will house approximately 900 HMRC team members.
The new contemporary development will replace an outdated L-shaped office block built in the 1970s which has been vacant for years before demolition work started in 2019. The new development will provide a new lease of life for this part of Worthing, with the building’s design providing a real positive impact on the Railway Approach.
Architect Frank Hinds, from CDA, has stated that the building’s ‘simple elegance’ will act as a foil for the ‘exuberance’ of the nearby Grand Victorian Hotel.
